Well, I see that there are a few subscribers now, so it's time to say
hello. Welcome to this mailing list!
There are no news, neither from ATI nor from me, so I'll start with a
question for you: is anyone using the DVI digital output on an ATI
board running fglrx version 3.7.6? I was unable to make it work,
neither by hand-editing XF86Config-4 nor by using fglrxconfig: the
digital output works in text mode (i.e. during Linux startup) but goes
blank as soon as XFree86 starts. I booted into Windows 2000 to confirm
that there are no hardware problems and it works fine there. If it
matters, the display is a Samsung 172x LCD.
I am unable to do more testing at this time, but if anyone is
successfully using the DVI output with *any* fglrx version, please let
me know.
I recently set up a LCD 1280x720 projector via DVI from a Radeon 9600
card. I installed read-edid and XFree86 from Debian unstable and the
latest driver rpm from ATI-com (via alien).
The DVI worked right away with no big problems but I'm struggling with
some other issues (XV is only supported on the primary display (= DVI)
which leads to blank screen on the TV-out).
Ciao!
