Re: what is the script meant to do?

You can tell the script where to find the sources by setting the KSRC
environment variable. Try with

$ KSRC=/usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.6 ./fglrx-build.sh

Ok thanks, sorry should i of RTFS? Ill make sure i do at the next
problem i hit(my sh is a little rusty though).

If that doesn't work, forget about the script (which is just an
experiment anyway) and follow the instructions on my page, which don't
depend on that link at all.

The script is a very good idea these packages need some automation
especially for people like me who are not so familiar with the Debian
package building commands.

Sorry i don't mean to sound negative im very grateful for all the
packaging work you have done. When will i be able to apt-get a binary
version of this module compiled for one of the Debian kernel packages?

When someone contributes either the binary packages themselves or
detailed instructions on how to build them automatically. ;)

Note however that there are dozens of prebuilt kernels and it's unlikely
that I could build all of the possible driver versions myself.

It is alot of work for one person, i think the question i intended to
ask was are there any plans to create pre-built packages for the fglrx
module and get them into the Debian archive(non-free section)? I guess
not.

Again i think these packages are very good, shame ATI don't open source
the driver(if i had known cards above 9200 had no open source drivers i
would have got a 9200 Pro and not this 9600 Pro or stuck with nVidia as
there drivers are better).
