Hi
The thing doesn't work right now.
I have tried to get it working in the past to no avail.
the problem:
Skipping "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libGLcore.a:m_debug_clip.o": No symbols found
Skipping "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libGLcore.a:m_debug_norm.o": No symbols found
Skipping "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libGLcore.a:m_debug_xform.o": No symbols found
Skipping "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libGLcore.a:m_debug_vertex.o": No symbols found
Fatal server error:
__glXExtensionInit: AddExtensions failed
Then X exits.
Setup:
debian sid
xserver-xfree86 4.3.0.dfsg.1-8
kernel-2.6.8.1 custom
kernel fglrx driver compiled and loaded with no trouble.
fglrx 3.14.1-1
ATI 8500LE
dri and glcore and glx modules loaded in X.
I checked the libGLcore.a with debsums. It's from the original archive.
I took a look at both this file and fglrx_drv.o.
Ran string trying to find gcc version on both of them.
I found that the libGLcore.a was compiled with GCC: (GNU) 3.3.4 (Debian 1:3.3.4-13), while the fglrx_drv.o was compiled with GCC: (GNU) 3.3.3.
Could this be the cause of the problem?
If not what else?
I am open to any idea.
thanks in advance.
