fglrx and ACPI S3 standby?

Hi,
  I'm currently using the ATI fglrx drivers as packaged by flavio on my
  debian unstable install.  I've been entirely unsuccessful with getting
  ACPI S3 standby + fglrx running with any kernel at all(2.4.27 on up 
  to/including 2.6.9).  S3 runs correctly with the normal
  radeonfb drivers (with minor patching to the module) but not with the
  fglrx driver.  I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to whether
  this is true of all fglrx installs specific to this build.  If it IS
  just an issue with the fglrx driver, is there a better forum to try to
  find a solution to this problem, or does anyone know whether any of the 
  API calls in firegl_public.c would be useful getting the card to play 
  nice with standby?
