Hello

Before I am going to compile the new kernel 2.4.29 for this
Mainboard "ASUS A7V8X-X with the Chipset VIA KT400" and the
graphic-card "ASUS Radeon 9200SE 128MB DDR-Ram TV-Out DVI", I
have some questions and hope there is somebody at this
mailing-list, who has experience with this hardware in
combination with the "ATI Linux driver packages for Debian
version: 8.10.19-1"...

[1] Question ---> 2.1.1 Recommended kernel options
==================================================
http://xoomer.virgilio.it/flavio.stanchina/debian/fglrx-installer.html#requirements

CONFIG_AGP=m
           ^
That works fine in the kernel 2.4.29...

CONFIG_AGP_chipset=m

CONFIG_AGP_VIA=m
In my case -^  ^
               |
How is it possible to set this kernel-option as a module? I can
only set there a "*". Do I have to patch the kernel 2.4.29 for
enabling this kernel-option as a module?

[2] Question ---> Chipset VIA KT400
===================================
I read on the following webside, that there are some troubles
with the "VIA KT400 Chipset".

- ---> http://www.gmpf.de/index.php/Installation:ATI-en

d) KT400/ KT600: Die Datei
/lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/agpgart_be.c editieren. Bei der
Treiberversion 3.2.8 sich in die Zeile 6073 bewegen und die
Zeile...

via_generic_setup }, // AGP v2 ---> via_kt400_setup }, // AGP v2

Do I have to correct the line 6073 also in the version
8.10.19-1?

Thanx and greets...
