Dual Head minor issues

Ok I just finished setting up my Dual Head debian linux system. Using
DVI/VGA output of a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (*). Everything seems ok,
glxgears report ~4500 FPS. But I have some minor issues:
1. Is there a way to get a truly Dual Mode. Meaning where I could open
an xterm in one screen and *then* pass it to the other screen. I have
this behavior using windows in the same graphics card/configuration.
2. I guess this is related to 1. but I would like to check glxgears (and
the GL buffer size). So is there a way to open glxgears in the second
screen (for some reason it always open in first screen) ?
