Hello... I have a ECS G732 laptop with a radeon mobility 9000 adapter w/
svhs out.

I want to watch my movies (dvd and divx) on my TV, but I couldn't figure
out how to configure XF86Config-4. Well, actually I already did that,
but not the way I want it. I explain: to display the X desktop on TV, I
have to manually switch the XF86Config file (configured for TV) and
restart X.

Hi!

I cannot help you with the problems you mentioned below, but could you please
send me your xf86config-4 file that you use to display X on the TV? Reason: I
am trying to get the tv-out on my thinkpad t40p (MOBILITY FIRE GL 9000)
working for quite some time now, but i still had no success: I only get a
"garbaged" image on the tv. Changing my xf86config-4 doesn't change anything.
I would be really glad if you could send me your config-file, so I can test it
with that one.

But when I'm gonna watch my movies, I cannot use the XV
extension. The video simply refuse to display on TV (that doesn't occur
on the LCD), the screen of the player becomes black (not the whole
desktop or the player itself, just where the video is supposed to show).

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I am still using windows
to watch movies on the tv, and there i got absolutly the same behaviour: I
can only see a black box where the video would be if the lcd and the tv is
on. to watch the movie on the tv I have to turn of the lcd, and let only run
the tv-out. Somebody once told me that this has something to do with the
frequences used, tv 50hz, and something different on the lcd, but I don't
know if that's true and what the details about it were..
