Actually, not that simple Flavio. That was the first thing I tried but 
aptitude wanted to remove about 28 packages along with fglrx 4.3.0. I 
could have copied the 28 packages and then reinstalled them by pasting 
them back into aptitude install ... but it seemed simpler to overwrite 
the executables. Anyway, it all works fine. Thanks again.

From what I have been reading we'll all be switching to Xorg soon 
anyway. :-)
