hi all,

i am a linux newbei and trying to install my ATI video card(ATI mobility radeon 9700).

i am running debian testing on my fujitsu siemens laptop my kernel version is 2.6.8-1-386.

i followed the steps on the xoomer site without any problems till i reached the step where i have to install the driver and the kernel.

when i typed the command dpkg -i fglrx-driver_8.10.19-2_i386.deb i got the following error

(Reading database ... 93120 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking fglrx-driver (from fglrx-driver_8.10.19-2_i386.deb) ...

fglrx-driver_8.10.19-2_i386.deb

any ideas how to fix that??

thanks in advance

Hossam,
I've looked some more at your dpkg output and it seems you installed another fglrx package namely 4.3.0. Can you do a search for the fglrx packages . Try aptitude search fglrx and post the results here please. The idea is to remove any previous fglrx packages and install the fglrx-driver_8.10.19-2 package.
Cheers,
Jonathan
