In your log, I see:

(II) fglrx(0): DRI initialization successfull!

So I don't understand why direct rendering is disabled. Make sure that
all the required packages are installed, for example xlibmesa-dri.

Rather, try upgrading to the latest 6.8.2. I see in your log that your X
server says it's version 6.8.1.99.
