Re: Trouble with Radeon 9600 and X.org 6.8.2 on AMD64

Oops,

I meant LIBGL_VERBOSE=1 and/or LIBGL_DEBUG=1 - although I think this has been overtaken by time.

My suggestion would be to verify that the libGL is not the default
libGL. For the short term, fglrx will continue to require it's own
libGL. LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT may also provide some exxtra information.

Another thing to check that the usage count on the kernel module is
non-zero. Regards... Matthew -------------------------- Sent from my BlackBerry Wireless Handheld

I have attached my log file and my xorg.conf, but I can't find anything suspicious there. I have tried both internal and external AGPGART, it does not make a difference.

In your log, I see: (II) fglrx(0): DRI initialization successfull! So I don't understand why direct rendering is disabled. Make sure that all the required packages are installed, for example xlibmesa-dri.

I will try to downgrade to XFree86 4.3, [...]

Rather, try upgrading to the latest 6.8.2. I see in your log that your

X
server says it's version 6.8.1.99.

Flavio, Doesn't his fglrx listing mean he's got a problem with the install? OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org *****OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.2.1) Jonathan
