Wow, you got that working? I did absolutely not want to work for me.
Seemed like the cursor is always stuck in the left upper corner, und
moving the mouse only moves the desktop around, while the cursor stays
there.
Anyway, I have noticed a few things that may be helpful. First of all,
Xorg (from ubuntu) seemed to give me a lot less trouble in this
respect. The built in driver works fine for dual head, but of course
it is lacking 3D.
Secondly: yes, the ATI driver likes to blank the second screen. It
does that under Windows, and it also does it under Linux (although I
run clone, and not dual). I think it has something to do with the
signal bridge, which is configured via I2C or some other slow bus.
I've attached my logs and my config file.
Thanks for any help you might be able to give!
Try Xorg, it may help. Apart from that, there is very little you can
do with binary only drivers. But I heard rumours that Xorg is working
on free 3D support. Maybe in 6.9...
