Re: Fwd: fglrx-driver 8.14.13-2

I managed to get the kernel module installed after removing everything
and then apt-get install the kernel module which found and downloaded
the files with the right dependencies.

Unfortunately this didn't lead to anything interesting and my
XFREE86.log still says:
drmOpenDevice: minor is 0
drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0
drmOpenDevice: open result is -1, (No such device)
drmOpenDevice: open result is -1, (No such device)
drmOpenDevice: Open failed

I'm really not good enough at hardware and how it works but if anyone
could think of any troubleshooting ideas I'd be happy. I'm attaching
my entire XFree86.log.

Please bare with me, I AM trying and getting this far is a big step for me.

Thanks

When I try to install the kernel modules apt claim that dependancies
regarding the fglrx-driver can't be satisified cause they are

However I've tried installing the drivers both via apt-get and the one
I got via fglrx-installer_8.14.13-2.dsc.

The changes in 8.14.13-2 only affect AMD64 packages, so I didn't update
i386 packages: they are still version 8.14.13-1.

If you use the prebuilt binary packages for the driver *and* the kernel
module, you should be OK. If you prefer to build your own packages from
source and you are using 8.14.13-2, you'll need to rebuild both the
driver and the kernel module.
