Re: debian unstabel compilation error



it's an issue persisting for weeks now, if not months -- and over and over again people are stumbling over it. i don't know your proposal (adding the headers to flavio's deb?) but as it seems related to this list -- what about people building the driver solely from ati's installer without using flavio's or even knowing about it? i can't really understand why rebuilding the indices is such a big issue making peoples have to rely on google or so, only to get infos normally the debian-package-system should provide ...

My understanding is that these dependencies will be added to
xlibs-(static-)dev in one of the next uploads of X.org packages but that
xlibs-(static-)dev are going away in the long run, so it's a good idea
to make arrangements for that anyway. I proposed a solution for that on
this very list.
