Hello Everybody

Problem: After compiling and loading the kernel module the machine is
totaly freezed when X is started.

I found out what my problem was.

The km has a bug.

When you have more than certain amount of memory it just totaly freeze
the machine when X is started. OR At least my experience confirm that.

Now it is working using mem=768M as a kernel option.

More Details on http://ati.cchtml.com/show_bug.cgi?id=146

This solution is horrible any other recomendation would be really much
appreciated?

Inspiron 9300
Debian Testing
X300 Radeon 64 Mb
XFree 4.3
Kernel 2.6.12.2
fglrx version 8.14.13-1

Thanks,

Any place where I can download the old version would be ok too.

You can build the previous version from source. Just download the source
package as explained on my page and build it with:
   PVERSION='8.12.10' fakeroot debian/rules binary

I don't know what's causing the problem you're experiencing. 8.14 works
well for me.
