Re: 8.16.20 works out of the box with kernel 2.6.13

This is just to tell that fglrx 8.16.20 debian package (for i386, at
least) works fine with kernel 2.6.13.
I compiled the module with make-kpkg.

i used the ati-installer to create a deb for unstable and it worked like a charm -- with one drawback: it creates in /usr/share/fglrx three files ... i don't know why these files can't be created in /tmp -- writing into directories elsewhere files not belonging to a package is verys bad style, i think. my problem: trying to start after installation and building the kernel-module failed claiming there's no synaptics-touchpad and thus no corepointer ... not clear, why and how to fix, the sysnaptics-driver is installed and worked perfectly with 8.14.13. as a workaround i created an xorg.conf by fglrxconfig (a very ugly and inconvenient tool -- no useful descriptions of the options, no retries (would like to allow dri only to members of group "dri" -- the tool only said "no such group -- allow to all". why does it not say "choes again"?))

ps:
flavio, is it possible to configure the list-server to add a reply-to-header? i have always to change the recipient's address or add a cc and still -- if in a hurry -- forget it sometimes. but as all recipients read the list, i think a simple reply-to to the list only would be sufficient.
