Problems with Fujitsu-Laptop, System freezes

Hello,
I've tried the last three Days to get this system to work because it is
not possible to watch DVD's with my current driver (fbdev).
I have a Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook E 8020 with an PCIE ATI mobility x600,
1 GB RAM and a display with a native resolution of 1400 x 1050. My os
ist Debian Sarge (selfbuild kernel 2.6.11.6 with x.org 6.8.2).
I've taken the precompiled binaries from flavio and build the kernel
modules, which seems to load well into the running kernel (see below).

My problem is, that everytime I start a windowmanager the systems
freezes (completly, nothing works, no keyboard-shortcuts, exept the
mousecursor).
First I've tried to start my windowmanager (wmaker) directly with startx
and the system freezes.
After that I've tried just to start xdm and it seems to work without any
problems.
But after the login, wmaker freezes the system again in the described way.
So I installed another windowmanager (icewm). This windowmanager is able
to start, but freezes the system after one or two up to ten minutes. (in
this short time the fglrx-driver seems to work, because I could start
fgl_glxgears and it makes about 500 fps, but a few moments later the
systems freezes unexpectedly)
With the old driver which I used so far (fbdev) everything works well
with the same configurationfile (apart from the depth 16 bit instead of
24 with the fglrx).
Unfortunately, I found nothing in the syslog or Xorg.0.log. I've tried
to access the laptop via ssh after it freezes and few times it works,
but I found no hint to the problem.

I couldn't find any errors in this report, but I suppose that the
X-server couldn't write any errorlogs in this file because the system
already hangs at this juncture.
Please excuse such a long posting, but I believe that it's probably
impossible to help without this information.
Does anyone get such a system to work or knows whats wrong in my
configuration-file?
