Re: 3D not working - no errors though?

Thanks for the tip! I really don't understand exactly what is going on, but suddenly, after several weeks of trying, it justed started working. I noticed that the files

/etc/fglrxprofiles.csv
/etc/fglrxrc

were missing on my system, and this was the reason that glxinfo reported only Mesa drivers. I uninstalled Flavio's packages, and installed the official ATI package, which contains these files. I had done this a hundred times, but this times it just worked! Well, I'm not complaining.

Cheers,
Mathijs

Hi!

I hope very much that one of you has an idea of what my problem is. Since
I have my ATI 9500 I've always managed to make it work under linux. But
now... I am completely clueless. I've tried Flavio's nice packages to set
everything up, but I'm still stuck with Mesa drivers:

romans at jimmie:~$ fglrxinfo
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.2.1)

And the sad thing is that everything seems to be working. My
xorg log-file, which is copied below does not show any obvious error
messages! (or, obvious to me)

Running

LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose fglrxinfo

should give you a hint where to start looking.
