Thanks for your answer. I already forgot about this tool, as I never thought 
of it to be useful as long as I only had the LCD.
I reconfigured X using fglrxconfig, now things are working great - I chose 
'Dual Head', now I have my external monitor running at 1600x1200 and my LCD 
at 1400x1050. Looks very nice, I'm happy. :)
