Wrong conclusion. The Courier mailing list manager can be instructed to 
alter the Reply-To header if so desired, but it's not a good idea:

Just click "reply to all", then:
if you want to reply to the list and CC the original author, which is 
often the best thing to do, you don't need to do anything special;
if you want to reply to the list only, remove any private email addresses;
if you want to reply privately, remove the mailing list address.
