Old story. My binary packages are built for Debian testing/unstable; they might work on Ubuntu if all the dependencies are in sync at a given time, but you're much better off building your own from source.
However, as you noticed, the packages currently don't build from source on Ubuntu because there's a problem with the Qt headers. IIRC there was the same problem on Debian for a while, but there's a patch here:
