Just to let you know, this new version of the driver works perfectly on
my laptop (Mobility Radeon 9600 M10).
Kernel is 2.6.15-rc1, configured as suggested in your howto. As with
version 8.16.6 and above, I have to force "-dpi 75" parameter to get
fonts displayed properly (I have written before to the list)

glxgears: ~2220 FPS
fgl_glxgears: ~420 FPS
flg_glxgears -fbo: ~490 FPS
