fglrx 8.20.8: rather slow?

hi,
i got the impression 8.20.8 is rather slow when redrawing the screen, at  
least under heavier load. 8.19 seemed more smooth.
can anybody confirm that?

oh, btw. did anybody manage to use two screens with _different_ resolution  
and frequencies?
