That was the guide we were following, and I've added his repositories
(that includes the binary kernel images). But I just can't get apt-get to
install them. I installed the driver from those repositories and that
worked fine, but I don't know how to install the kernel module.

I'm trying to install
fglrx-kernel-2.6.12-1-amd64-generic_8.19.10-1+2.6.12-10_amd64.deb

from the repositories described here:
http://xoomer.virgilio.it/flavio.stanchina/debian-fglrx-modules/index.html

So the only thing stopping me seems to be some kind of apt-get syntax.

You did not mention exactly what's the problem. :-) The syntax for the
sources.list file on that page does seem to be correct.

One ugly way is to download the .deb file(s) you want and use dpkg to
install it. See if that works for you.
