Kernel version question

Oh...I have a problem that I am unable to solve!
My problem installing fglrx is due to wrong kernel version.
I am mounting debian (stable version) with 2.4.27 kernel for 386. But I have
an AMD Athlon 64 CPU.
Now I want to reinstall the distro and so I have to download the ISOs for my
CPU model. But I can't find them. Or better, I don't know which is the
correct one (IA64 / i686 / ... ??? )
Does Debian support my CPU model?
