Re: multi-screen holy grail

newer versions support big desktop mode, that is a solution like the
nvidia one, with a big framebuffer and xinerama extensions support. It's
documented in the faq.
Using different resolution works but there are some glitches. For
example with my notebook's screen (1280x800) and an external monitor
(1280x1024), i can use native resolution for both screens, but if i move
my mouse over the horizontal boundaries of the 1280x800 screen there are
graphical issues. These don't compromise the usability...

Hi all,

I haven't followed the recent fglrx developments recently.

Has there been any improvements in the multi-screen management?

I have 2 analog screens, 17" and 21".

I would like to have them in a Xinerama-like config, one next to each
other.
I would like to use different resolutions on each of them.
I would like to be able to move windows from one to another.
I would like the windows to appear on one screen or another, not in the
middle.
I would like the windows to maximize only on one screen, not 2.
I would like to have DRI.

I guess I am looking for the fglrx holy grail, most probably.

Or am I?

For the time being I have that half-way dual-head setup, no moving
windows between them, different resolutions, DRI on.

Thanks for any pointers!

Nico
