During the long Easter weekend I've prepared 8.24.8 packages that
support X.Org 7.0 and kernel 2.6.16 and I can confirm it's working fine.
My computer has been running X.Org 7.0 with fglrx for a few days now.

Since this is not the usual trivial update, I would welcome some
feedback. Brave people willing to test should take a look at

I've added a list of supported chipsets to the packages. You'll find it
as /usr/share/doc/fglrx-driver/fglrx-supported.txt.gz.
